Step 1

Create a representative test set

Choose products with different image quality, price structures, variants, audiences, and levels of description detail. Include at least one difficult product rather than testing only the cleanest catalog item.

Write the expected facts and prohibited inferences before generating content. This becomes the answer key for accuracy review.

Do not compare outputs made from different source quality and attribute every difference to the model.

Working checklist

  • Select five varied products
  • Create an accuracy sheet
  • List prohibited claims
  • Use identical source inputs
Step 2

Score output, not novelty

Rate factual accuracy, product relevance, brand fit, visual hierarchy, edit effort, accessibility, and channel suitability.

Record how many minutes a usable draft requires after generation. A spectacular first draft that demands frequent fact correction may save less time than a plainer reliable one.

Avoid scoring on surprise or visual effects alone. The content must still help a shopper understand the product.

Working checklist

  • Use a fixed rubric
  • Time the edit
  • Check mobile previews
  • Record correction types
Step 3

Inspect workflow controls

Confirm approval states, permissions, scheduling, retries, audit history, queue limits, and the ability to pause publishing quickly.

Test what happens when a price changes, a product is archived, a token expires, or a video fails processing.

A generator without operational controls is not an automation system; it is an additional production step.

Working checklist

  • Test approvals
  • Trigger a failure
  • Inspect audit history
  • Verify pause controls
Step 4

Calculate the real cost

Include plan fees, account limits, generation credits, team seats, setup time, review time, and the cost of companion tools.

Compare cost per approved post and hours returned to the team, not only the advertised monthly price.

Annual discounts should not hide whether the workflow has proved useful during a shorter pilot.

Working checklist

  • List all usage limits
  • Include labor
  • Calculate approved-post cost
  • Pilot before annual commitment
